It all starts in 1866. A story that spans three centuries, it’s a tale of entrepreneurship, innovation and an obsession with superior quality that continues to this day. Traditionally, Irish linen developed an excellent reputation for its unusually soft, fine yet durable characteristics. The linen woven at Liddell in Donaghcloney, County Armagh was no exception. Having graced and adorned some of the world’s greatest hotels, so renowned was the quality of Liddell, it was invited to provide the linen for the luxury liner, Titanic.

Knowing and recognising exceptional quality isn’t always something which can be taught. Sometimes, it’s a question of pride in what has gone before, an innate understanding that has come from one generation after another and ultimately a desire to produce something that lasts a lifetime.

Liddell is an integrated organisation that has both the capability and the experience to control every aspect of the production process and supply chain. As part of the wider sourcing specialists, Vision Support Services Group, we have an international network of manufacturing partners to ensure you receive first class products and exceptional value from around the globe. With our own overseas offices employing local personnel, we can deliver an all important continuity of performance standards in line with every product specification.

We’re also committed to producing the finest quality linens in ways that are both socially and environmentally responsible. While we believe this is simply the right thing to do, it’s our view that our customers, our partners and our planet deserve nothing less. We implement ongoing and recognised programmes that aim to reduce the environmental impact of our activity, minimise waste, ensure key raw materials come from sustainable sources and that all our dealings with operators, partners and employees are both socially and ethically compliant. The world is changing, as are we. A new era for Liddell has begun.
